American Eskimo Dog
The American Eskimo Dog first came from Germany in the late 19th or early
20th century. They are a member of the Spitz family. Also known as Northern Dogs and “ The Dog Beautiful”. They
were renamed the American Eskimo dog in 1917 and became an official breed in World War 2. They are also called The American
Eskimo Dog lives for about 15 years.
They are the most intelligent of all canine breeds. Also they are known for their
strength and agility. They are very lovable dog. They are good with children and friendly with strangers. They can since when
people are sad and need cheering up. They also can be used as watchdogs because they are very protective. They are very alert
all the time. American Eskimo dogs are very curious and when you change their environment they will explore it first. They
love to be taken on walks.
They have a double white colored coat. The inner coat consists of short, dense hair and
the outer coat consists of longer guard hair growing through the inner coat. Also distinctive black points on there
ears, nose, and lips triangular ears. They have a plump tail that is carried loosely on their back some are very fury and
soft.
There are three different sizes standard, miniature, and toy. A standard American Eskimo dog is about 14-19
inches tall. The miniature is about 11-15 inches tall. The toy size is 9-12 inches tall.
